Stretch Marks
Stretch marks are sneaky little things, they arrive silently, with little production but are so noticeable once they get there that you just want to blast them out of your skin any way possible. Retin A-This cream must be prescribed by a medical professional. They are best used on “fresh” marks, but have been shown to significantly reduce the appearance of them.
Exfoliate Daily and Increase Circulation-removing old, dead skin cells will help skin to glow and reduce the redness of the furrowed lines. Simply use a loofah or a bath scrunchy in your daily shower. This also increases circulation to the area which aids in the repair of damaged skin cells
Vitamin E Gel-Break open vitamin E capsules and rub the oil directly on the affected area. Do this daily for at least 2 weeks.
Get A Tan!-Tanning can diminish minor lines. The darker skin will make the skin appear more uniform
Use A Cream-Probably the best way to get rid of stretch marks is to use a cream, like Trilastin, that has been specifically formulated to do so. Since these creams’ only purpose is to improve the unsightly look of the white and red lines, they tend to be fairly effective. I have had the best luck with Trilastin.
Microdermabrasion-this is a cosmetic procedure where the top layer of skin is removed by chemicals or some sort of tool. This one is not extremely effective primarily because the affected area is not on the top layer of skin.
Laser Therapy-there are several types of laser treatments available that can help to get rid of stretch marks and help to heal your skin. You will have to visit a dermatologist for such a treatment.
Whatever method you end up choosing, don’t get discouraged, Stretch marks don’t disappear overnight. It took time to get them in the first place and it will take time to get rid of them too!
